PALM SPRINGS, Ca.
A Banning man suspected in a string of commercial burglaries from Anaheim to Indio was charged with burglary and grand theft for allegedly stealing a large amount of power tools from a Palm Springs home-improvement store.
David Anthony Jackson, 36, was arrested Monday on suspicion of burglary after Palm Springs police served a search warrant at his home.
Police say Jackson stole a large amount of tools Nov. 3 from The Home Depot at 5200 E. Ramon Road.
Jackson allegedly filled a tote bag with power tool sets and then fled the store through an emergency exit.
A subsequent investigation revealed that Jackson was a suspect in four other Home Depot burglaries, in which he allegedly took power tools and later sold them, according to police.
Jackson, slated for arraignment this afternoon at the Larson Justice Center in Indio, was being held at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning in lieu of $60,000 bail.
