A second-alarm house fire that broke out at a Desert Hot Springs home today was quickly contained by responding fire crews.
County firefighters received multiple reports at 2:06 p.m. of a single- story house on fire in the 66000 block of Buena Vista Avenue, said April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.
The non-injury fire was well underway upon firefighters’ arrival, who also found a propane tank that was venting gas at the scene.
However, the 27 responding county firefighters were able to contain the flames at 2:23 p.m., Newman said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
