Seven Minors Taken Out of Uninhabitable Conditions in Twenty-Nine Palms

Twentynine Palms, CA

What started as a simple traffic stop in Twenty-Nine Palms turned into multiple arrests.  Deputies from the Morongo Basin Station stopped Arsenio Jones and Brandon Brown.

Deputies soon learned that Jones is on Felony Probation for narcotics and was then driving with a suspended license and Brown had an active warrant out for his arrest.

Jones and Brown were arrested and taken to the 72600 Block of Foothill for a probation search on Jones’ house.

Deputies then contacted Danielle Reid and her seven children.

The house conditions were deplorable and uninhabitable.

According to police, the residence had barely any food, broken plumbing which caused water to cover the floors, potential animal feces on the bedroom floor where they slept, trash covering everything and large rats and cockroaches infested in several parts of the house.

Both Jones and Reid were arrested for violating the Penal Code 273(A), a Felony Child Neglect and both booked into Morongo Jail.  Jones is being held without bail and Reid has a $100,000.00 bail.  Brown was also arrested and is being held on $25,000.00 bail.

The Department of Children’s and Family Services were contacted and the seven minors were taken into custody.
