UPDATE- According to PSUSD, phone service was restored shortly before 9 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Palm Springs Unified School District and thousands of Southern California customers are experiencing a major phone outage. According to Verizon Business, the issue is caused by a fiber line cut during stadium construction in the city of Industry.

The phone service at all PSUSD school sites are down except for Agua Caliente Elementary and the District Office.

It is unknown how long the outage will last. Regardless, classes start tomorrow and the district wants to inform parents of the situation.
