Desert Hot Springs, CA

A family is shocked and police are looking for a suspect after a family dog was shot in their yard.

The shooting happened around 11:00 o’clock on Friday morning on 14th Street. Police received a call about shots fired and arrived to find the dog on its own property, bleeding from its shoulder. The shots were fired through a metal security gate.

The dog, named Princess, survived after the owners rushed her to a vet.

Thanks to a generous couple in Bermuda Dunes, Princess will get surgery on Saturday. The Alvarez family is grateful for the help and support of the Bermuda Dunes couple.

If you have any information on the shooting call Desert Hot Springs Police (760) 329-2904.
