Man Shot by Beaumont Police Identified


Update: The coroner’s office has identified the man as Robert Duh, 42, of Beaumont. 

A man was killed by Beaumont police after they say he approached people with a hatchet at a drive-through window.

This happened at noon Saturday (September 17th) at a Burger King drive-through in the 1600 block of E. 6th Street Beaumont.

Police say a man approached drivers with both a hatchet and stick.

Sometime after officers arrived, they shot the man.

The did not say specifically what led officers to fire their weapons.

The man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

One officer is on administrative leave, as is usual police department policy.

The man’s identity has not been released yet.
